Across Canada, tens of thousands of us are writing letters, meeting with MPs, and organizing in our communities to stand up for Canada’s workers.
We need to dial up the pressure now. The federal government is pushing for dangerous new powers that would allow them to break legal strikes. Left unchecked, these changes will tip the scales in favour of big corporations and leave workers with fewer tools to negotiate a fair deal at work.
If we’re going to force the government to walk back these changes, we need all hands on deck to show our MPs that Canadians won’t stand by while they side with corporations over working people.
On October 13 at 6pm ET, we’re hosting a national telephone townhall for workers, unions, and anyone across Canada who is ready to defend the right to strike.
Will you join us to hear what’s at stake, find out what’s happening in your community, and get ready to take action together?
It’s easy to join the call, and thousands of people from coast to coast to coast will be there. All you need is a phone, and if you RSVP, our team will call you when it’s time to join. Here are the details:
What: Defend the Right to Strike – National Telephone Townhall
When: Tuesday, October 13 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT / 5pm CT / 4pm MT / 7pm AT / 7:30pm NT
Where: Via phone. RSVP to receive the details and a call when it’s time to join.
The actions we take together in the coming days could determine whether MPs feel enough pressure to stand with workers, or whether big corporations succeed in weakening our power for years to come. Join the call on October 13 to find out how you can help win this fight.
