  • NCTR | Truth & Reconciliation Week Resources | Sep 23-27.         The National Centre for Truth & Reconciliation has compiled resources that you can use and share with your locals to showcase your participation in Truth & Reconciliation Week (September 23-27)! You can feel free to copy, paste, or customize these resources to share more about your involvement on social media.
  • BCFED | In Memoriam Submissions Call | Oct 31                      For their 2024 Convention in November, The BC Federation of Labour would like to honour those in the labour movement who have passed away since the last BC Fed Convention (Nov 2022), to collectively celebrate them and their commitment. Please send the full names of labour activists who should be included in the In Memoriam segment to convention2024@bcfed.ca, ensuring to submit correct spelling, by the October 31, 2024 deadline.
  • FNHA | First Nations Health & Wellness Summit 2024                            The First Nations Health Authority has published a recap of this summer’s 2nd annual First Nations Health & Wellness Summit, available in detail online here, including downloadable speaker presentations:

  • United Way | Labour Appreciation Night | Nov 21                            Save the date for the 30th annual Labour Appreciation Night by Pacific Blue Cross, celebrating the contributions of our labour community, who strengthen their unions and improve the lives of others. Tickets go on sale Oct 2nd.

  • BC OHRC | Human Rights Code Educational Session | Oct 10                          BC’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner invites all to a virtual information session aiming to educate participants about the provincial Human Rights Code, pertaining to all areas of human rights including housing and employment. Registrants can submit questions ahead of the Q&A session.

  • Canada’s Volunteer Awards NAC | Call for Applications | Oct 23                Those wishing to join the National Advisory Committee for Canada’s Volunteer Awards can apply here until October 23, 2024. Two info sessions to orient interested applicants will take place:

  • CHSF | Quarterly Meeting | Sep 25            The September Quarterly Coalition Meeting for Healthy School Food is happening next week online, following up on the exciting news of the government of Newfoundland and Labrador signing the first provincial government with the federal government for National School Food Program funding on September 3rd. There will also be discussion of the new federal School Food Infrastructure Fund.
