Local 40 is organizing delegations to inform past and future customers of the Hilton Hotel about the ongoing Hilton Metrotown workers labour dispute. They will also be holding rallies outside of Burnaby Winter Sports to inform Inside Edge Hockey about the teams they are sending through the Unite HERE! Local 40 picket line. BCFED | Paid Sick Leave Day of Action | Oct 25 In anticipation of the Provincial Government’s announcement on the number of paid sick days for all BC workers, the BC Federation of Labour (BCFED) is organizing a collaborative Paid Sick Leave Day of Action in the Lower Mainland! Members are encouraged to participate, as this will be the last opportunity to voice the importance of 10 employer-paid sick days for all workers. The event has two actions:
1) Taking photos and uploading them to social media with the message, ‘ I support #10DAYS ‘ and,
2) signing an open letter to the BC government via a QR code that will be provided on the day of.
